These are some of the audiovisual projects, things and stocking stuffers I've done or been a part of.

I do a lot of different things and have a history in video editing and pre-rendered 3D visualization, so not just a pretty gamedev face, even if this portfolio does lean heavily into that direction.

Solo project

A KAAL (or KAAAL, for Kill All Audio And Lights) is a type of video shown at Assembly demo party before compos to kindly remind the audience to turn off their monitors and lights and turn down the volume of personal audio equipment.

I did everything but the music, which is used with permission.

3D modelling, texturing, photo retouching

Ancient environments visualization project for online presentation (not available anymore) and book illustration. Done in 3ds Max by two modellers based on archeological research and accurate elevation data.

I modelled mostly buildings, built things and living areas.

The Work

I modeled and textured mostly buildings like the cabins, the hillfort and the bailey and other man-made things found around the settlements. I also worked on the hillfort hill topography, the rest of the landscape being done by another artist.

There were other scenes from different time periods, I did the Santa Pirjo Church for one of them.

I retouched photos of historical artefacts for the book.

Lessons I learned

A flyby area of several square kilometers with a horizon line kilometers away, camera flying by several high-detailed points of interest, really, really needs proper storyboarding to optimize polycounts even with pre-rendered scenes.

Since then I've learned that times, and polycounts, truly have changed.
